3rd Annual Amigos Golf Club Navarro - Ramirez Tournament at Beautiful Saticoy Regional GC
2018 Amigos Golf Club Memorial Tournament
The gorgeous southern California sunshine was bright on our Third Annual Amigos Golf Club Memorial Tournament at Saticoy Regional GC honoring two former great past members, Henry Navarro and Gil Ramirez. One team beat the other by a small average of 2 strokes per player. More on the scoring results later.
As always, John Deal did the fine computer work to set up the event and then masterfully worked the magic to not only tabulated 24 scores, divide and total team scores but John also ran 3 skins games and broke down the winners systematically like a pro.
Tournament Director Doug Heller did all the background tasks of setting up, parings, and bringing refreshments for our 19th hole gathering. Goose Golfer made the delicious carne asada and chicken burritos that Larry Navarro made the all- important errands run to retrieve. Oh wait... just got word that the burritos were made by Lupita's Bakery. My bad!
Now the the results...
One team scored 857 and the other team scored 828. Actually, Team Navarro won for the second year in a row! Shooting a remarkable 69 average while Team Ramirez shot an average 71.4 to make it very close.
Individually, Team Ramirez was led by Larry Navarro's amazing 60 net score (No relation to Henry) Manny Ayala got a 66 net and two Amigos were at 68 net, Meche Corral and Vice President Hector Betancourt. The winning Team Navarro was led by Sal Alcantar 63 followed by John Trueba 64 and then Al Gutierrez 67 net scores!
There was no "Money Shot" this time but we will have a back up plan soon.
