Amigos Golf Club at Beautiful Santa Barbara Municipal Golf Course
B Flight Net and Gross Champions Frankie Melendez and Robert Sandoval
Frankie Melendez’s three under to par net super low score of 67 was good enough to beat out Hector Betancourt by one stroke. Frankie double bogeyed number 16, and that was the difference. Hector’s would have taken a double bogey gladly; however, a lost ball and then a nice chip that almost went in, would have made a difference. The three foot putt for double bogey stopped inches from the hole and Hector had to walk off the green with a triple bogey. Chuy Velasquez carded a net 70 to settle for net third place
B flight gross champion Robert Sandoval shot a very nice four over par and two strokes better than long time Amigos golf club member Humberto Cruz on the front nine. The back nine Cruz cruised with Robert stroke per stroke and settled for a respectable 81 gross score for a second place finish. Nacho Corral fired a gross 84 to round off the top three places. Congratulations!

Goose Golfer loses to Doug Heller by One Stroke After An Almost Big Comeback!
Doug Heller squeaked by Goose Golfer by one stroke to claim the Santa Barbara golf tournament last Saturday. Doug finished the front nine one under par while Goose was lurking two shots back. In the back nine, Doug expanded his lead to four shots before Goose came racing back and tied the leader on number 16. However, the wheels fell off on the very next hole and Goose had to settle for a double bogey.

Money Shot putting Contest yields big cash and Three Big Winners!
The Money Shot’s coordinator, Nacho Corral Jr,. reported that there were three winners in our club's putting contest after last month's winnerless contest. Thus, the money shot pot reached $165. Nacho set up a slightly uphill right to left late breaking 35 foot putt. Several Amigo members came close to sinking the shot. However, three A flight members managed to nail the putt to share the jackpot. The eleventh putter and first to make the putt was Doug. He plumbed the line and calmly slammed dunk his putt. The next man, Eddie Ramirez mis- hit his second putt and “what-do-you-know!?” It went in for a “sapo,” laughed Nacho. The last putter, Goose. knocked down the putt on his very first putt. “It was a ‘gimme’ putt,” retorted Nacho. Goose saw the line 15 times: “Who here can't make it.“ “13 other Amigos members couldn't do it,” says Amigo Nation.
