On a bright sun shining Saturday at beautiful Sterling Hills golf course in Camarillo, 30 Amigos teed off to play 18 holes of friendly competition. Out of the 30 players only 4 were of the A flight group. Jose Ramirez took low gross with a sizzling 70, then came Al Perez and Doug Heller both shooting a nice round of 73.
"It was a very nice turnout today, especially noting that we had 24 players on the roster just on Tuesday of this week" noted Mr. Amigos Golf Club President, Johnny Garza. Doug Heller did a helluva a great job signing 6 more players by tournament time. Doug brought even more good fortune to the Amigos golf club members participating with a beautiful golf towel. (Joe Puga pictured with the "everybody wants one AGC towel" below.) Doug and the Amigos Board of Directors have promised to bring the "goods" for as long as we can to show our appreciation for our club members.
The Money Shot was postponed until after the tournament last Saturday. The turnout was low as expected but the thrill that the Amigos golf club members had while putting was not. Money Shot Coordinator Nacho Corral Jr laid out a very difficult 45 footer with double breaks that Amigo Nation believes not even the "great" Goose Golfer would have had that much success. Great job Nacho! See if you can top this contest with our next tournament....

Sterling Hills Golf Tournament B Flight Amigos News
Amigo nation has to believe that when Efrain Sandoval got up to play early last Saturday morning with the Amigos Golf Club he had no idea he would later that same day, win first place net champion for the B flight and win a cool ninety bucks at Sterling Hills golf course.
Efrain shot a very low 64 to win easily over second place net finisher, George Perez, by 4 strokes. David Kuaea and Angel Lopez tied with a 71, but David won the card off and fifth place net place belonged to Franky Melendez with a very nice total of 73.
B flight gross champion Robert Sandoval barely squeaked past Eddie Ramirez by a single stroke and carded an impressive 79 low score at a very difficult golf course. John Trueba came in third with an 81 and a shot behind John came in Amigos golf club President Johnny Garza and Nacho Corral Jr. Naturally, Mr. President Johnny Garza got the tiebreaker because... well he is the president after all. Of course, that is not true. Tie scores go to a card- off which entails the best scores on the most difficult holes of the golf course.
Finally, it’s not luck... it’s pure skill, as Nacho Corral Jr. would attest for his big payday. Nacho played and won big ($200) in all three skins games. Plus, he even placed fifth in the B flight gross group to total $250 in earnings. Not bad for a day on the golf course says Amigo nation... not bad at all!
